Horsforth Museum Pictures

Taken from Museum publication( Horsforth Trivia) this lady was still working at the age of 102 years in the fields of Horsforth. Extensive booklets on sale as little as £2 which cover the local and social history in Horsforth with information about the families which were most prominent. 
 Display of Household wares of by-gone years including one of the earliest electric washing machines donated by an electical repair shop on New Road Side Horsforth. All exhibits have been donated by the public.
Child's toy pram from the toy display dated around the time of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth 2nd in 1953 the Coronation Jubilee is this year 2013.

How we were entertained in the home around the 1950s. There is an exhibition of everyday objects, news and events from the 1953 Coronation to the present day celebrating the Jubilee of the Queen's Coronation.

Museum getting ready to open in the Spring

If your live in Tinshill or cross Horsforth bridge near the Fox and Hounds you will be familiar with this view. Some folk may be interested to visit the New Old Ball recently refurbished, not on this picture and the old original Old Ball pub is a little hard to spot but it is there at he top of Station Road a little up Brownberrie Lane about where the bus stop is now. The Cove fish and Chip Shop also not built at the time of this photo the plot seams to be alotments, but there was a fish and chip shop at the top of Station Road somewhere between the Adair Paxton estate agents and the Vets.

Family History meeting Sat 23rd

We had a good meeting on Saturday with a new person in our group who managed to find three generations of her family from one certificate she had and has now gone off to explore her family.
