Ration Books last issue 1953/54 WW2

Handed in but will be sent to the "Hancock" museum Newcastle as not local. Just for folks who have never seen one. Meat, Fats, Cheese and Sugar still on ration but not for long thank goodness. However kids at school recieved codliver oil and malt all from a shared spoon, a bottle of milk and lunch.

Marhall's date stone Station Road.

M & A Marshall 1837 date stone on the gable end of the building on Station Road Horsforth next to the Optician. Allthough Marhalls have been in Horsforth for years I can not find anyone to fit these intials around that date, think it may be Mathew. Go and take a look before it weathers away.
